I learned that in order to have a solid teaching/learning environment then both the teachers and students need to be able to work together. Students have to have a desire and willingness to learn, and teachers have to be able to understand the needs of each of their students as well as the needs of the classroom as a whole. Students should ask questions and participate in activities, and teachers need to be able to answer those questions with kindness and patience, and know when to gently push students to participate while still being able to understand that they might need a little more confidence in themselves before they can do so.
