This unit allowed me to think about the importance of the receptive skills of reading and listening. It also listed some of the main purposes and styles of reading and listening such as skimming and deduction from context. This unit helped me understand some of the difficulties that students might face when dealing with reading and listening activities, and helped me brainstorm different methods to assist students with receptive skill building activities.
