Testing and evaluation can be a daunting thing for language learners. They are particularly worrisome for school students who typically focus more on the grade recieved rather than the fun of acquiring the language they are learning. However, an instructor should try to help them to place more emphasis on who they are progressing in the language rather than what their grade average is if possible. Who such students it may be better to give evaluations or tutorials to be graded and then give practice tests as evaluation aids.
