In this unit I learned the criteria of what makes for a good teacher and a good learner. I learned the nine roles that a teacher can take, and the importance of knowing what role to use and when to switch between the roles in order to facilitate optimum learning of students. I also learned points that I need to be aware of when thinking about the students, such as tailoring materials appropriately to their age or culture. This unit was helpful in letting me analyze what kind of teacher I have been in the classroom (by comparing to the examples given) and what kind of teacher I would like to be going forward.
