Course book can help both teachers and students, some content of a course book might not be suitable for some students at a certain time, I must, therefore improvise by adding my own prepared/ created materials to attract the interest and participation of the entire class. I must also modify some content of the course book (when necessary) to suit the entire class.
Authentic materials are good to use since there are "real" and therefore most likely to attract the interest of students, it is, however, not a suitable material to use for beginners since their language ability might be below the level and therefore, make them "uncomfortable/ shy" away from participation, it is therefore, a good idea to use created materials for lower level students
