I always like the units that revolve around the teaching elements in the classroom. It is important to have a full understanding of what we’re teaching, but it really helps me to know how to teach it, as well as why. The breakdowns of what the students need to know about each section will help in the design of lesson plans because I will know what each lesson needs to cover and why. As it mentioned, we are guided by the curriculum and books, but there is also a lot that is left up to us to decide what will be in the lesson. So, knowing what needs to be covered in each section to have a well rounded lesson plan will help significantly.
