This unit went over the use of and teaching techniques of correct pronunciation as well as the study of phonology. In regards to phonology the areas of stress, rhythm, and intonation comprise it's primary categories of study. In consideration of teaching techniques, the instructor has many methods at his disposal in regards to developing students' pronunciation of individual sounds,including: peer dictation, the teaches own mouth, visuals, phonemes and finally tongue twisters.
Lastly, this unit failed to provide any form phonetic diagrams in order to give pertinent direction in regards to the test. Rather than grant the student some form of clarity, the phonetic section of the test was convoluted and unrepresentative of many of the "teaching strategies" this program so confidently instructs others to do.
