This unit is about modal auxiliary verbs, which are used before the verbs to add meaning to the main one. They can be used to express obligation, possibility, permission, prohibition, advice etc.. They don't change in form according to the person.
It also talks about the active and passive voice, which are frames that both have the same meaning, but the focus on different: in the active, the focus is on the agent, while in the passive the agent is much less important or doesn't even appear.
Finally we have relative clauses, which can be defining and non defining, and phrasal verbs, which can be transitive, transitive separable and transitive inseparable.
It is always very important for the teacher to be clear and organized during explanation, or else you will loose students attention.
