While I complete this course work, I am also learning to speak Korean. It is fascinating to me so see the simple differences in how the two languages are used. To me, English is quite complicated because we have many rules but also many exceptions to those rules. For example, you cannot put “the” before the names of mountains, but this rule isn’t followed for “The Andes” or “The Rockies.” I look forward to developing a lesson for my future students to make all these rules and expeditions seem less daunting, because I find them to be overwhelming and I already know them. Knowing this about the English language makes me want to help those who desire to learn it even more than before.
