The uses for resources ranging from a simple blackboard and worksheets all the way to whiteboards and DVDs can vary extensively, but they work as long as one keeps in mind the needs of the students and that these resources are aids to learning, not a crutch for skills that students have to build or the responsibilities of the teacher. One must keep in mind at all times what purpose the resource would accomplish that otherwise could not be done without it, and if it serves to help students learn the subject better.
The unit also heavily features a compendium of books, websites, and other electronic resources and this is possibly the most beneficial part for me (aside from the advice to not write in capital letters, which is a useful new tip). I have also been given advice from another co-teacher before not to overuse color in handouts or on the board, so that's something I have been considering with boardwork and printouts lately that ties into the above note on majiscule.
