Unit five as taught me how dynamic the teacher-student relationship is and how many factors go into this relationship. For example, even classroom set up can set a tone for how the teacher is perceived by students. Unfortunately, in my case all of my classroom set ups are in orderly rows because I'm teaching in Japan.
Also, I hope that I can employ the methods that were listed in the unit to reduce teacher talk time in my classes. For example, incorporating more pair work activities besides just the usual small talk portion of my lessons with older students, and doing greetings with younger students. In the classes that I ask the students "How are you?" individually, I want to have them ask each other instead to increase their talk time.
