This has been a great help in thinking about the type of student being taught and pulling together and adapting the previous units to reflect that.
Firstly we covered the different types of beginners and the tips and problems of teaching them (including motivations). Then we transferred our attention from group to individual teaching (1 to 1) and then onto teaching children, how to make the lessons more effective for them. I found the section about class discipline very useful as it covered many point I had been thinking about. The last parts of the unit we looked at covered the teaching business side ( including the production of needs analysis sheets) and the difference between teaching monolingual and multilingual classes. As mentioned I have found this unit very useful and enjoy reading it.
