This unit introduced the tense system of English verbs, and then focused on the present tense. There are twelve tense-aspect combinations formed from the three tenses (past, present and future) with four aspects each (simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous). For each of the present tense-aspects, the grammatical form, language usage, typical student errors, and activities suitable for the activate stage of a lesson were discussed. Identification of the kinds of activities useful for helping students practice the language was most helpful for me.
