The most important lesson that I have learned from this unit of study is that teaching is simply not being a teacher. There are many different roles and nuances a teacher must consider. The dynamics are somewhat complicated in fact. A teacher has to be flexible. Another very important lesson learned is that teachers will enjoy their job more the better they teach - ie, change the roles of the teacher and ways to learn and enjoy the process with the students. Then the students and the teachers have an enjoyable experience. Simply instructing is not teaching. The teacher has to enjoy his/her role and consider all aspects of the learner (age; level of proficiency; etc) and properly participate in all roles as a teacher so as not to alienate students or to treat them as "one size, fits all." The different dynamics at play can make the teaching experience very enjoyable.
