This unit has helped me appreciate the importance of understanding the requirements of the learner aswell as the role of a good teacher.So often we remember our school days with mixed feelings -some bad but thankfully mostly good. I still remember the teachers I liked and the subjects they helped me to enjoy and excel in.Their patience and ability to explain things over time and time again is an inspiration , when I reflect.I am sure that it was because of them that I got anywhere in school.
This unit helped define the essence of teacher /learner requirements in a concise and easy to learn way.The video was excellent - and I enjoyed the presentation ,it was interesting and educational.I particularly liked the concept of interaction of the learner and teacher - rather than the old school 'teaching at' the student- as this surely encourages learning for both parties.
