This unit is similar to two units before this. Unit 8 covers the last four tenses that we need to master as English teachers. However, we can see the introduction of one more type of tense in this unit which is called be going + infinitive ('going to' future). As usual, the unit covers the form, usages, typical mistakes/errors and teaching ideas which is extremely helpful for us to clearly identify the differences and for our lessons when we teach our students.
It was shared in this unit that the future tenses is one of the most complex areas of the English language. This was pointed out a number of times as the seven tenses, which includes the present simple and the present continuous from Unit 4, have very slight differences and can be mistaken for another if not careful. Thus, this shows that especially for Unit 8, we need to be able to clearly distinct the different types of future tenses.
