This unit was about contrasting effective and ineffective teaching techniques. The first video plainly showed a teacher who was unprepared to teach foreign language students, both in his demeanor and the way he began the lesson. In the second video, the teacher opened the lesson with an Engage phase activity, already priming the students to be successful. The participation and general understanding soared.
