This unit discusses methods of evaluating and testing students. Firstly the the unit breaks down several in-house tests such as placement tests, which are designed to help teachers place students in the appropriate class level, progress tests which are used to monitor what students are retaining throughout the course, diagnostic tests which help teachers to identify what students already know and practice tests which prepare students for external exams. This unit then covers the most common external exams such as Cambridge, Trinity, IELTS and TOEFL. These exams are usually taken to prove students level of English when applying for work.
