The invention of the translation software has a big negative effect on students who practice their writing skills. Every month I give my students a movie to watch at home and give them two weeks to write a movie reflection. I’ve found that some students write the reflection in their native language and put it through the translation software then edit the translated result. That’s so bizarre! Without the translation software, they can write anything by themselves.
