This unit talks about the importance of reading and listening. It is important, when a student reads, to make sure he has the correct language knowledge, if not, decide if there will have to be a pre-teach phase. It might be better for the students to work in pairs, to create interaction and it could be less stressful and the student might be more confident. The main difference between reading and listening is that reading gives you the opportunity to think about the text and "capture" it, while when you are listening you have no time to "capture", also students could have problems understanding the accents of different teachers. You can avoid these problems with a pre-teach phase grammar and vocabulary, a careful selection of the texts and creating interest before starting the lesson.
