A good teacher will have a class of good students. This is achieved through a blend of the teacher's personality, leadership ability, knowledge, and relationship with the students. The teacher's personality should be friendly and patient as well as passionate about her teaching and her students learning. A good teacher encourages learning and motivation by promoting a fun and lively atmosphere in a classroom where students feel confident to experiment with a new language without fear of failure. A tefl teacher must understand her students' ability level and be able to recognize what motivates them or causes them anxiety. She should understand that adults bring different experiences and motivations into class with them than younger students. She should be aptly prepared to use these differences to encourage and enhance the students' learning. A successful class will find students enjoying themselves while learning because of an entertaining as well as organized facilitator.
