Unit 4 is dedicated to the present tenses system. There four types of present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. There are given the following areas of study: form, usage, typical errors, teaching ideas.
Present Simple is used for some routine actions, permanent situations or instructions.
Present Continuous is used to talk about actions in progress, to emphasize frequent actions.
Present Perfect is used when we talk about actions that already happened, when we describe past actions but with present results.
Present Perfect Continuous is used to describe a recently finished actions which has a present result and to talk about ongoing activity (when we want to indicate the length of the activity).
