Past continuous is formed by using the past auxiliary verb be (was/were) +present participle (verb+ing). The negative past continuous is subject, was/were, not, verb+ing. The past continuous in question form is was/were, subject, verb+ing. Past perfect (formation: subject, had, past participle) Past perfect activity for students: read them a story and have them reconstruct it from the ending to the beginning. Past perfect continuous (formation: subject, had, been, verb+ing)
