The unit shows the importance of the developing the four important skills to be able to learn a language and use it effectively. This unit focussed on the receptive skills of reading and listening. It highlighted the skills needed to develop these skills and how to approach problems that arise in teaching teaching them. The ESA example was helpful in demonstrating how to schedule a lesson to encourage reading and listening among the students. The use of communication games is helpful in using the different skills to develop overall understanding of the language.
