The resources covered in this unit include boards, over-head projectors, visual aids, worksheets, work cards, cassette recorder, CD player, videos and DVDs, video camera, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopier, computers and online resources. To effectively use a teaching aid, the teacher should be thoroughly aware of how it is used, prepare in advance by testing its usage, set a lesson plan with the selected resource, have a back-up plan in case any challenges were faced with the teaching aid in the classroom, and diversify the choice of teaching aids as per the learning objectives. This unit offered useful learning in maximizing the benefit of using teaching aids and to be aware of not only their advantages but also specific disadvantages and what should be avoided. This supports in ensuring the relevant teaching aid is selected as per the learning outcomes and how to use it successfully in the classroom environment.
