This unit covered teaching special groups or categories of learners of English, namely; beginners within various subgroups, from absolute beginners to beginners without the Roman Alphabet, individual(one to one), children(young learners), Business English and multi and mono-lingual groups. Each category and any sub categories within these groups were presented with the various advantages, disadvantages, mindsets, challenges and teaching methods/techniques needed to address the specific needs of each of them. This unit was very helpful in being able to identify and understand how to approach teaching with each of these different groups and how to adjust and tailor things for them. I especially liked the section on Young Learners because it is a group that I have been and continue to be involved in, and the notes on how to maintain the classroom, run an effective lesson and an overview of good classroom management was a very useful and concise reminder and reference to have and be reminded of.
