This unit looked into the topic of evaluating and testing a student's language skills and abilities. We learned about the different types of tests that can be used before, during and at the end of an English language course. Some of the tests included a diagnostic test, progress tests, and practice tests. A diagnostic tests is given at the start of a course to see what students already know. A progress test is used periodically to gauge what language has been remembered from lessons. A practice test is used to prepare students for the external examination and should have a similar format to it.
