In this unit we learned about evaluations and testing. We learned that there are three ways to evaluate learning and those ways are tutorials (usually once a week to review and discuss, making sure lessons are moving along well and are being understood), evaluation by students (getting feedback from the learners to make sure they are getting positive things out of a class), and tests. There are 4 types of testing (placement, diagnostic, progress, and practice) all of which are important while teaching english as a second language. I think this unit was important because the evaluation and testing of a course/class is vital in knowing that, as teachers, we are doing what we are supposed to and doing it effectively.
