The tense system might appear a quite complicated area of the English Language: we can outnumber 12 tenses in all. Starting with the present tense, we can find four different kinds: present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. In each case we have to be careful in choosing the right tense, depending on when the action happens and if it affects the present in any way. Graphic, mime and cards are useful to engage the students, as well as exercise where they are asked to describe actions, their routines or simply what's going on outside a window.
