There is always a debate on the topic of course books and it is reassuring to see that it doesn't only happen in the areas where I work. I still have the question about standardising quality though. If a great teacher supplements the book, the class will be amazing and the students will learn. But what to do when the teachers' choices are not smart nor useful in terms of the additional materials? The course book at least provides a minimum standard quality to the class.
