This unit highlights the importance and gives a detailed breakdown and map of lesson planning, specifically using the ESA methodology. I have had experience in lesson planning before, but that was coming in cold, and not having been trained before hand. Exactly the points about why a lesson plan is needed are the issues I faced. Not being able to run a coherent and well planned lesson that engages student fed into issues of misbehavior and made teaching a dread rather than something to look forward too. The lesson planning tips and methodology really helped me in this unit, showing me how to methodologically put into a concrete and well outlined plan using ESA and well thought out and timed lesson that is both reaching the teacher and student aims, a point which I think is highly important and this unit confirms. A Teacher needs to be learning just as much about good teaching and how to implement that with goals and working to get better as students should be learning and gaining benefit from those lessons,the self evaluation form in this unit is a really great tool and beneficial in that regard.
