In this unit, I learned the specific roles of teachers and students. As I teacher, I am responsible to maintain a healthy balance of leading, assessing, and prompting, among other qualities. Additionally, by putting the needs of the students first, I can ensure they thrive and learn to the best of their abilities. I must also keep in mind that my students will often come from diverse backgrounds and be at various stages in their personal journey with learning. Knowing this, I have to be willing to adapt to their level, finding ways to encourage and support them regardless of their experience. I appreciate how this unit focuses on how to bolster a constructive classroom atmosphere while also recognizing the many challenges that can arise for both teachers and students.
