In this unit, we have talked about the importance of receptive skills: Reading and Listening. There are two motives for reading and listening and they are for purpose and entertainment. We learned that it was important for us to know and how to teach these two receptive skills to our future students. In order for us to do that, we need to understand the five different specialist skills. The five are the predictive skills, Scanning, Skimming, reading for detailed information, and deducing from context. From these skills, we can create an ESA lesson plan to teach them about reading and listening in many ways.
