This unit was a really great overview of the 4 past tenses. Likewise to the present tenses, I really didn't know that much about the past tenses prior to this unit. I didn't even know about the four different types of past tenses, the past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and the past perfect continuous. I feel that without a good, solid knowledge of all the English tenses, it would be virtually impossible to teach English, especially to learners in a different country who don't have the benefit of immersion. Thus I feel that these grammar-based units are especially important in training to teach English abroad, and I try to learn from them as much as I can.
