The forms of the past tenses reflects those of the present tenses, but could be tricky for students. We must choose the correct tense, taking into consideration the exact time of the action and wether or not it was continuing in time. Students might make mistakes as forgetting the ing-formula or skipping the auxiliary been, or they could find difficult to learn by heart irregular verbs. It is important to elicit students with pair games, cards, and make them speak about their past: what did they do yesterday, or what were they doing in the past at a certain time.
