I have learned about methods and methodologies that will most likely be crucial to my career as an language assistant.When reading about the different ESL teaching methodologies I was able to draw connections to the general teaching mythologies that I learned about (and identified with) during my time in university. For example, a Progressive model of teaching focuses on the student rather than the teacher and this falls in line with the Community Language Learning methodology model which requires students to speak among themselves while the teacher remains out of the spotlight.Because of this, I am actively thinking of ways to put these methods to use while also recounting the other methods I used and saw being used during my internship at an elementary school.
