Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

VIDEO 1. Teacher was grumpy, had little empathy for the students, and gave the impression he just wanted to get the job/teaching done! Cutting corners/stages and reducing value of the lesson. Students were at times confused and forced to guess, belittling by 'little negative remarks', not confident with their answers. Lesson was most TTT and very little S-S, or STT. Too fast! Abrupt start and ending - missing the 'engage' stage all together. On Activate stage, teacher was unprepared [not enough material], no demo/explanation given. You could see that students found the game confusing... points not correctly recorded and game was rushed. No monitoring, very little S-ST but more TTT. VIDEO 2. I saw the teacher's strong qualities on video two that of a 'prompter' eliciting throughout the lesson from his student. A participant in last activity definitely, and a strong model in helping with 'drilling' correct pronunciation of the English language. The teacher also showed management skills, with material on hand and the handling of 'late-comers', without disrupting the class. Tactfully using a student 'error' later on, and letting the same student 'correct' it. The lesson was organised well, and stages had an ingenious flow across. The teacher demonstrated before eliciting answers or before each activity. Other qualities I picked up was the teacher observed and monitored his students to make sure they understood the work and left them alone to resolve in pairs. Good interaction, giving compliments where it's due, and having a rapport with his students. Students genuinely enjoyed the lesson and became rather actively competitive. There is always room for improvement and perhaps I would still bring out an extra S-ST activity/a [sequel activate stage].
