This unit introduced different theories, methods and techniques that are helpful to know as a teacher of English as a foreign language. I enjoyed this unit because it provided a good idea of what a typical lesson may entail and gave me a better idea of what I can expect to be teaching. More importantly, it gave me an idea of how I can expect to present the information I will be teaching. It emphasizes how student talk time is vital to a productive learning environment and provides many different activity ideas for students to engage in so that the lessons won't become stale. As someone who has never taught a language, I believe this information will be extremely helpful as I begin my career.
