Most native English speakers use conditionals as they begin to express themselves about plans and various activities, without having to consider sentence structure for expressing these conditionals. This lesson has helped me to review conditionals in normal usage, clarify how the clauses change in relation to tenses in conditional expressions, and how verbs change in direct vs reported speech. It also made me listen more closely to my foreign-born colleagues, and to identify potential errors that students of English might make with conditional expressions.
