This unit covers modals and it's uses to do with expressing certainty, requests, obligations, ability and permission, Phrasal verbs;the intransitive and transitive, separable and inseparable types, and the passive voice. Again this unit like the one dealing with conditionals needs the teacher to be very aware of the subtleties of the structures involved and how to be able to relay and teach that in a digestible and effective way to ones students. Of course the first main step to that is the teacher first having a thorough grasp of this and then being able to asses at what level and when to introduce such structures, especially based on the fact that these more advanced grammar points are built upon the foundation of knowing the other fundamental parts of speech thoroughly. These units make me acutely aware of how much I need to constantly practice and retest and review all the grammar units up until this point to be able to proficiently teach such points in the classroom clearly and well.
