It is important to only speak in English during class so the students are always immersed in the language. There are three stages a typical lesson plan; engage, study, and activate. During the engage stage it is important that everyone speaks some English, what they know is gone over, and that the student talk time is high. Do not correct in this stage. During the study stage they learn new concepts, are drilled, are given examples, there is time to correct, Elicitation is very important in this stage. During the activate stage you want the students to be very involved.
