This unit outlined the characteristics that are associated with a ‘good’ teacher and a ‘good’ student along with the various roles of a teacher in the classroom. For me this was critically important information since I have no experience teaching in a classroom but surprising have demonstrated these roles in my current workplace. Because of this now that I understand these roles and their uses I can develop my experience and knowledge of these for when I get to apply them in a classroom. I already had a basic knowledge about the differences between students in regards to age. However, this unit has helped my understanding about the subtle emotional and specific factors between age groups. And how these factors need to be considered by the teacher in regards to teaching a particular age opposed to another. For example, language level, language experience, motivation and so on.
