Unit One explained the roles of the teacher, what makes a good teacher and a good learner, and the different levels of language learning experienced by various students. It was helpful to learn what kind of mastery students have over languages at various levels, so that I may decide appropriately what type of activities to pursue. It was also helpful to read about the general learning attitudes of students of different ages, such as their level of motivation or how keen they are to trying new things with the languages.
