This unit provided a more detailed guide about lesson planning. Lesson plans serve as an aid to planning to help the teacher logically think through future lesson plans. It is also a working document, and teachers should keep it flexible in case any changes should be made. When creating a lesson plan, it is important to keep it simple, unscripted, structured, and flexible. It is also helpful to write down the anticipated time for each activity.
There are several things that should be included in a lesson plan such as learner objectives, personal aims and language points which show the theme around your lesson. It is also important to have anticipated problems to preemptively fight student errors. Other things needed in lesson plans include teaching aids, phase (Engage, Study, Activate), timing of each activity, class level, number of students, and many more.
The unit then continues into example lesson plans, which provided a great visual aid. This unit also recommends monitoring your own lessons and giving a self-evaluation form that I intend to do in the future.
