To sum up this unit, it tackles the issue of various methods and techniques of teaching language. It gives us a brief overview of what methodology we may apply and what are the limitations it may have. It has definitively broaden my knowledge on English teaching techniques and it has provided me with many ideas of time-filling activities. The most effective of the methodologies considered to apply is ESA (engage-study-activate). It engages students through different fun activities in order for them to get interested in the lesson. Subsequently, this methodolody will provide study activities in terms of the language and its construction (e.g. worksheets on a verb tense). Finally, students will be able to use the language communicatively. It is the stage when they can be creative and produce some work based on what they have learnt. I indeed enjoyed this unit!
