Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit emphasizes the importance of teacher behavior during the class and different things that the teacher can do to have the students attention while at the same time allowing for the student to participate an immerse in the lesson. For example, it explains how and when to use eye contact. It's important to make eye contact when talking to a student and for them to feel part of the group, it is harder for the students to follow someone who isn't looking at them. Also, the importance of using mimic and hand gestures so maybe the students have to guess what you're trying to say and allows for them to participate. Never use hand gesture to point the finger at a student, never. The unit talks about the importance of learning everyone's name to create rapport and the different ways you can group students. There're advantages and disadvantages to each grouping method like rows, semi circles and tables. It is important to know them and when to implement them. For example, if you're working with a few students it may be better to eat them in a semi circle, this way you seem less dominant and the class becomes more intimate. With a large size classroom you can seat them in rows which will allow better organization for whole class activities. Another thing that this unit addresses is the methods to use for different activities. You can use whole class activities, pairing or small grouping and individual activities. Each one has its pros and cons and knowing them and when to implement each method is a great way for the students to develop certain set of skills and confident.
