This is something really important for a teacher. This unit talks about the different types of groups and student that a teacher will face during his/her career. To me, it's really important to establish rapport from day 1. One of the best things for the class to be enjoyable is this rapport between the teacher and the students. This way the students will feel comfortable participating in class. Another thing to have in mind is, that not all students are the same. Some are more extroverts than others, you will find student who like to participate in everything while others prefer to stay quiet. A teacher must find a way to get those students involved so they don't fall behind. Using a tape recorder to tape what they want to say before the class is a good way of letting that student express, to get him/her to build confidence.
