In this unit, it discusses about the different types of nouns such as common, proper, compound, abstract, and collective. Within the nouns there are two sub-categories: countable and uncountable. Also, there are different types of verbs such as action, state, and auxiliary. Adjectives describe the nouns, and there are comparatives and superlatives adjective. Adverbs describe the verbs and there are different sorts such as manner, place, time, degree, and frequency. Within prepositions there are 3 main categories: time, place, and movement. The parts of speech that I learned in this unit which I like best was about the a vs. an discussion. It brought my knowledge (which I never knew about) of the vowel and consonant sound of words which start with a 'U' can be written using 'a' before the vowel due to it sounding like a 'y' sound. For example, a University; while words like 'umbrella' also has a 'u' vowel but due to it sounding like a 'u' word which makes it 'an umbrella'.
