In this unit, we were to watch two videos of a teaching lesson with the same instructor teaching 2 different styles, a correct and incorrect way. In the first video the instructor walked in the classroom and immediately started teaching, without even introducing himself or getting to know any names. When he handed out a worksheet for the students, there were no clear instructions given, leaving the students completely confused and intimidated. When it was time to do a group activity, it seemed the teacher was confused himself. In the second video, the teacher walked in with high spirits, a big smile and introduced himself before asking everyone their names. He effectively engaged the students and made the learning experience comfortable and safe for them to learn.
