In this unit, I managed to learn about past tenses, the system and structure of past tenses is basically not too different from the present tenses, except that past tenses obviously relate to the past time periods. The tenses are as follows; past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. The past simple tense is mainly used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. This topic has also elaborated further on common verbs in English mostly have an irregular simple past form, which most students face as a challenge in their work. I have also learnt that when you are teaching this topic, you can use sample activate teaching ideas such as memory pairs, narrating storytelling and interview role-playing.
